PLIVA-Lachema Diagnostika in co-operation with Czechoslovak Society for Microbiology, Society for Medical Microbiology ČLS and the Czech Collection of Microorganism (CCM) by MU held in Brno from 12th till 13th April 2007 Symposium dedicated to NEWS IN MICROBIAL DIAGNOSTICS. More than 130 microbiologists from the Czech Republic and Slovakia participated in the Symposium. Within the frame of scientific programme in the course of lectures News in Bacterial Identification and News in Yeast Identification were presented new products launched in year 2007 by PLIVA-Lachema Diagnostika. The main emphasis was placed on presentation of new kits STAPHYtest 24 and CANDIDAtest 21. The programme of symposium also included lectures about Accreditation of Microbiological Laboratories where lecturers shared their experience with the preparation for the laboratories to the accreditation and also with the activities of the laboratories that are already accredited. In the last course of lectures were presented New Trends in Microbial Diagnostics. For enliven the scientific programme, PLIVA-Lachema Diagnostika prepared accompanying social programme for the participants of the symposium associated with the visit of Moravian Karst, Abyss Macocha tour, stalactite and stalagmite caves tour and cruise on the underground stream Punkva. The visit of caves also enhanced concert which took place directly at Mirror small lake. PLIVA-Lachema Diagnostika wants to say a word of thanks to all professional societies for co-organization the symposium, to all lecturers for their interesting contributions, participants for their time which they found for this event and last but not least also the weather which was more than spring. We strongly believe that we will also meet on the next symposium PLIVA-Lachema Diagnostika in years to come.
